What to find on the webinar series AWS for Newbies
AWS for Newbies is a series of four AWS on-demand introductory webinars. If you register, you will receive a video with AWS basics every two weeks. Besides, you can watch them at any time and anywhere. That way, you will be able to learn and review the contents whenever you need it.
Your guide throughout these webinars will be Javi Moreno, Resident Futurist & Evangelist at CAPSiDE. In case you don’t know him, Javi is an IT engineer and an authorized AWS Instructor Champion. He’s been a Cloud technologies teacher for a long time now and has several AWS official certificates. With him, you will learn the basics of AWS and you will get to put your expertise into practice.

The AWS for Newbies series consists of the following episodes:
- AWS for Newbies – EC2: Learn how to deploy your project on AWS with EC2 virtual machines. We will also develop basic concepts on virtual machines, we will introduce the concept of VPC, EBS disks and their initial content (AMI) and we will be managing servers with ssh.
- AWS for Newbies – Introduction to VPC: Quickly discover the necessary concepts to understand how VPC (also known as Virtual Private Cloud) works. This video is an introduction to the basics of VPCs, which you will need when creating a VPC.
- AWS for Newbies – Implementing VPCs: Learn how to set up a VPC network step by step using the web console for it. We will be dividing it into a public and a private section where you can host the servers that implement your applications without exposing them directly on the Internet.
- AWS for Newbies – ALB: On this last episode you will get to apply what you have learnt on previous webinars and you will be introduced to the functioning of ALB: One of the three types of load balancers that AWS Elastic Load Balancing or ELB supports. At the end of the webinar, a demo on how to create an ALB will be carried out.
